Mr. Gino Sasso serves as a Strategic Advisor for Validus Capital and collaborates with other members of the firm in supporting clients with family office services. Mr. Sasso builds trusted relationships by understanding overall family objectives, respecting family history and dynamics, and working closely with other advisors.
A former senior tax partner with Ernst & Young (EY), Los Angeles, Mr. Sasso has over 38 years of broad experience serving public and private clients, including as a service coordinating advisor to multigenerational business-owning families and single-family offices with business and owner federal, state, and international tax and wealth transfer services.
During his career with EY, Mr. Sasso worked closely with family stakeholders and business management teams to deliver tax compliance services and growth planning strategies, including structuring tax efficient operating entities, business succession planning among family members, and advanced planning for tax efficient business sale and liquidity transactions. He has advised families on key life event transactions and dual governance systems to help support next generation wealth transition, charitable giving, and family legacy planning.
Mr. Sasso held various leadership roles at EY, including the Southern California Private Client Services (PCS) Family Enterprise Tax Practice Leader, member of various national tax committees developing PCS tax education programs, and the former office managing tax partner for the EY Long Beach office. Mr. Sasso currently serves as Managing Member of Sasso Advisory Services LLC where he supports family enterprise groups with integrated planning and special projects consulting.
Mr. Sasso received his B.S. in Business and Accounting from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, and his M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in California, a member of the American Institute of CPAs and California Society of CPAs and a Board Member for Providence Little Company of Mary Foundation in Torrance, California.
